Bison Lasagna - This delicious bison lasagna recipe will be a real hardy treat for all those invited to your next feast. Serve with some fresh seasonal vegetables and ebjoy this scumptuous meal. |
Ingredients to make Bison Lasagna
1 pound ground bison
1 small onion, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 can (398 ml) tomato sauce
1 can (156 ml ) tomato paste
1 cup water
1 cup salsa
2 tsp sugar
1 - 2 tsp chili powder
2 tsp Italian seasoning
13 lasagna noodles
1 carton (500 g) creamed cottage cheese
4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Directions to make Bison Lasagna
Step 1:Brown bison meat in a large skillet. Add onions and garlic and cook until soft. Stir in next 7 ingredients. Simmer, uncovered for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
Step 2:Meanwhile, cook lasagna noodles according to package directions; drain and rinse in cold water.
Step 3:In a 9 x 13 pan, spread a thin layer of meat sauce, a layer of noodles, a layer of meat sauce, half of the cottage cheese, mozzarella cheese, another layer of noodles, meat sauce, the remaining cottage cheese, mozzarella cheeseand a final layer of noodles, meat sauce and mozzarella cheese.
Step 4:Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until bubbly. Let stand 20 minutes before cutting.
